The Wi-Fi Alliance today announced that over 900 Wi-Fi products from 116 companies have received certification since testing began in March 2000. The organization currently performs four independent interoperability certifications including IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and Wi-Fi Protected Access in addition to a combination of all of these technologies. Apple has had both 802.11b (AirPort) and 802.11g (AirPort Extreme) products certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
