Alaska’s Denali Borough school district has announced plans to give a 12-inch PowerBook G4 to every student in grades 9 through 12. A total of 129 of the laptops will be given to high schoolers at Tri-Valley, Anderson and Cantwell schools, according to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. This “one-on-one initiative” is the result of a partnership between the school district and Apple, and is based on programs in other states, particularly in Virginia and in Maine (both of which we have reported on).
