Apple’s iPod was chosen as the Best Internet Audio Device in the European Imaging and Sound Association’s (EISA) annual awards. Macworld UK reports that EISA called the iPod “a standard-bearer for the future of Internet music” and described the Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) codec as “superior” and “giving better sound quality for a given data rate.” The annual awards recognize new products that combine “the most advanced technology, the most desirable features, the ultimate expression of design, the most satisfying ergonomics and the greatest value for money,” according to EISA.
