LightWork Design today announced the “imminent” release of LightWorks 7.3, a new version of its flagship 3D design software. Version 7.3 will bring support for cross-platform plug-in shaders, which will be encapsulated inside the secure LWA format to allow shaders to be distributed directly to users for importing into their applications. The update also offers performance increases of up to 40 percent in a range of features, including considerably faster IIR rendering. In addition, version 7.3 includes cross-platform support for RPC files and LightWorks Real-time for the Mac.
