Questions over Macworld Boston raised after NY decline

An article published in today’s Boston Globe by James Collins looks at the success, or lack thereof, of the Macworld CreativePro Expo in New York City, and wonders what this might mean for the Macworld Expo in Boston next summer, which will open the city’s new US$800 million convention complex. “Yesterday, the 1.8 million square feet of floor space in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center seemed downright cavernous as thousands of prospective visitors stayed away from the fourth day of the five-day exhibition of products for the Macintosh, apparently discouraged by the absence of Apple Computer founder and chief executive Steve Jobs,” writes Collins. Apple has already stated that the company is not happy with the decision to move the show to Boston, and to date, has no plans to participate.
