ACD Systems International, through its recently acquired Miami-based subsidiary, formerly Deneba Systems, today announced the launch of Canvas 9, the latest version of the company’s illustration, image editing, page design, and presentation software. Canvas 9 comes in three versions: the Professional Edition (US$349.95), which offers a new user interface and over 100 new features and enhancements for technical professionals in business, science and engineering; the GIS Mapping Edition ($549.95), which adds native support for Geographic Information System (GIS) data; and the Scientific Imaging Edition ($549.95), which brings support for 8/16/FP32 depth images, over a dozen Image-J and NIH Image compliant filters, direct access to the numeric image data, and support for DICOM format files. Canvas 9 requires a G3 Macintosh or better, and Mac OS X 10.2 or higher.
