If Then Software has released IDIot 1.0, a new utility targeted at developers and those who distribute Mac OS X software electronically over the Web. It creates an Internet-enabled disk image (IDI) that “cleans up” after itself leaving behind only the desired software and nothing else related to the download process. “Convert existing read-only disk images to the new internet disk image format, or disable the feature from current Internet disk images. Upon download of the new IDI formatted disk utility, it will remove all traces of the ‘shell’ that the software comes in and simply place the software on the desktop — much less confusing for the average user.”
