Macrovision Corporation today announced the availability of SafeDisc for Mac OS X, as the company has now completed the porting of its SafeDisc and SafeCast “DRM” product suite to the Mac OS X environment. SafeDisc is a software-based solution that does not require any changes to the publisher’s application code and is compatible with standard PC or Mac environments and CD-ROM hardware. It is comprised of authenticating digital signatures embedded on the optical disc, an encryption wrapper, and various anti-hacking technologies that secure the optical disc executable.
