Sony has announced five new LCD monitors optimized for full motion video in broadcast and production environments, including two multi-format 16:9 displays and three-rack mountable combination packages. The new multi-format, widescreen monitors include the 17-inch LMD-170WS (US$3,200) and 23-inch LMD-230WS ($3,850) models, which feature a unique two-piece design, which accommodate a variety of standard and high-definition analog and digital signals, including 1080/60i, 720/60P, and 1080/24PsF. The two monitors are expected to ship in July.
