Microsoft’s Macintosh Business Unit today will release MSN Messenger for Mac 3.5, the latest release of the company’s instant messenging client. New features in version 3.5 include message archiving with a search feature, allowing users to save instant message conversations; change display name, where users can switch their display name as often they like by simply clicking in a window and typing in a new name; and contact management, to define and organize groups for family members, friends or colleagues. In addition, when contacts are sorted into groups, an option is available to show only those individuals who are currently online in each group. This free update will be available for download later today.
