Arlo Rose and Perry Clarke have released Konfabulator 1.0.2, an update to their JavaScript runtime engine for Mac OS X that lets you run small files called widgets. According to the developers, widgets “can do pretty much whatever you want them to.” They can be alarm clocks, calculators, tell you your AirPort signal strength, fetch the latest stock quotes, or provide your current local weather. The latest version brings several improvements, all of which are detailed here. In addition, there are over 150 third-party widgets available including a MacMinute Streamer — created by our friend Paul Sahner of DV Graphics — that grabs our news and scrolls it across the bottom of your screen.
