Mac OS X to be default operating system on new Macs

Numerous MacMinute sources have confirmed that Apple will begin shipping new Macs with Mac OS X as the default operating system today, some 10 months after shipping the initial version of the software. Last July, Apple began shipping new Macs with both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, although the systems booted into Mac OS 9 by default.

FileMaker today announced that it will be previewing FileMaker Mobile 2 Companion for Palm OS with Mac OS X support at Macworld Expo. New features include pop-up Menus, resizable columns, date and time picker, and more. The software is expected to ship in the first half of 2002.
