Lotus Notes Rnext coming to Mac OS X

Lotus today announced that the next version of Lotus Notes, code-named “Rnext,” will offer advanced support for Mac OS X. The company has promised to deliver the “same key capabilities of the Win32 environment” in the Mac OS X client. Mac OS X support in Lotus Notes will first appear in the next beta version of Rnext, which will be available in Q1 2002. Final name, pricing and ship date for Notes Rnext has not been announced.

Microsoft releases Office v.X Test Drive, new promotion

Microsoft today released Office v.X Test Drive, a 30-day demo version of Office v.X that includes most of the features of the retail version. The 122MB download includes all four Office v.X applications: Word, Excel, Entourage, and PowerPoint. Additionally, Apple and Microsoft have launched a new promotion—”Suite Deal.“—that offers a US$150 rebate to users who purchase a new Mac and Office v.X.
