Griffin iMic Control 1.5 released

Griffin Technology has released iMic Control 1.5, an update to the utility that provides additional features and controls for the company’s iMic USB audio input device. Version 1.5 adds an adjustable input gain control, Bass and Treble controls, and enables Audio Play-Through monitoring on Mac OS 9. iMic Control is a free download, while the iMic USB audio input device sells for US$35.

Roxio to acquire Napster assests

Roxio, creators of the popular Toast CD authoring software, today announced that it will acquire the assests of Napster, the former file-sharing company, for US$5.3 million in cash and stock. Roxio will receive all of Napster’s intellectual property including its technology patent portfolio, but will not be assuming any of Napster’s liabilities, including pending litigation.

GameRanger adds Heroes of Might and Magic IV to multiplayer lineup

Scott Kevill today announced the addition of a new game title to the GameRanger online gaming service. In addition to the 109 previous titles, gamers can now play Heroes of Might and Magic IV. This announcement follows 3DO’s note earlier this week that the popular turn-based strategy game was shipping. Heroes of Might and Magic IV is available for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X for US$49.95.
