MacMinute reader Ryan Salazar noticed that Apple recently updated its iPhoto Device Compatibility page, adding support for more devices, including his Canon PowerShot S30.

Googie Drives will begin shipping its new line of FireWire drives, reportedly the smallest full-height drives on the market, at the end of February, according to MacNN. The site is relatively bare at present with “more information coming soon.” The drives will initially be available in 40GB, 60GB, and 80GB configurations.

Several readers have written in recently noting a 12-page iMac insert found in current issues of Time, Newsweek, and Entertainment Weekly. The advertisement, which is identical to the leaflet distributed at Macworld Expo San Francisco, offers an overview of the new iMac, iPhoto, and six common Mac Myths.

Metrowerks has released CodeWarrior for Mac OS Professional Edition 7.2, a free update of its Macintosh development environment. Version 7.2 is a maintenance release of the PPC PEF, PPC Mach-O, and x86 compilers, linkers, and command line tools. CodeWarrior for Mac OS Professional Edition 7 sells for US$599.

Other World Computing today released XpOSfacto 2.11, an update to the its utility that allows some pre-G3 Macs to run Mac OS X. Formerly known as Unsupported UtilityX, the new version adds support for a wider range of SCSI CD-ROM devices, support for burning custom Mac OS X install CDs and assorted bug fixes.
