Microsoft is asking IT professionals at organizations and schools that use Microsoft Exchange Server to complete a survey that aims to gauge demand for further Macintosh products related to intranet e-mail and calendaring, as noted by MacCentral. The survey contains a list of Exchange client features and asks respondents to specify which are the most important functions to their organization

At QuickTime Live!, which kicks off on Monday in Beverly Hills, Apple is expected to announce QuickTime 5.1 with support for MPEG-4, MacMinute sources have confirmed, after a c|net RumorMill report first noted this Thursday evening. The MPEG-4 video format is designed to allow for interactive, broadcast-quality video streams that require far less bandwidth than traditional content delivery techniques. Additional details on the release of QuickTime 5.1 are unavailable at this time.

Evologic has released CoolCam 2.2, a new version of its WebCam software for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. Version 2.2 adds a Java webcam applet, enhanced motion sensors with customizable actions, enhanced timelapse movie archiving, and more. CoolCam sells for US$20, while iOXperts sells a FireWire WebCam Driver for $20 that provides Mac OS X support for a number of cameras.
