PowerPC G4 roadmap sees speeds of 1.5GHz

The Register has published a look at Motorola’s recently updated G4 roadmap, which calls for three new variations of the G4 to be developed over the coming year. While laden with technological terms, the article notes processor speeds as high as 1.5GHz, and bus speeds of 266MHz, with a new RapidIO technology that could deliver even higher performance.

New iMac begins shipping in U.K.

Several MacMinute readers in the U.K. report that their new iMac orders from the Apple Store have shipped. Supply remains very tight, however, and it’s unclear when resellers in the country can expect stock of the system.  Updated 12:25 Craig Sanderson has informed us that PC World, a U.K. Mac reseller, had a few units of the new iMac in stock today, although a salesperson said supply is very constrained.
