Enhancing iCal with automated tasks

Lucid Dawn Software has released an interesting utility for Apple’s iCal software that allows users to control and automate tasks based on data in their calendars. iCal…Make It Happen 1.0 creates an iCal calendar called iCalMIH that monitors other calendars and performs tasks when the date and time match. iCal…Make It Happen requires Mac OS X 10.2.1 or later, Apple iCal (of course), and will set you back US$20. A Better Finder Rename 5.0 released

PublicSpace.net has announced the release of A Better Finder Rename 5.0, the latest version their contextual menu plugin, which allows users to quickly rename multiple files. Version 5.0 introduces several new features, including full support for 255 character file names, a rewritten renaming engine, correct sorting for file names of more than 64 characters, the ability to create stand-alone “droplet” applications to automate frequent renaming tasks, and more. MacExpo 2002 starts tomorrow in London

MacExpo 2002, billed as the UK’s only Mac exhibition supported by Apple, begins tomorrow at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, England. The show, which runs from November 21-23 (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM), will feature seminars and presentations covering games and entertainment, music and audio, video editing, and solutions for small and medium enterprises. Last year’s event was attended by 21,163 visitors. The entrance fee is priced at £10.00 per person — further details are available from the Web site.

Your Mac Life, an Internet-based Mac radio show hosted by Shawn King, has announced its lineup for tonight’s broadcast (8:30 PM – 11:00 PM ET).
