HP embraces 4800-dpi inkjet technology

Hewlett-Packard today became the first company to announce plans to incorporate 4800-dpi technology into many of its future inkjet printers. The improved resolution will significantly boost the quality of printed high-resolution images and is just one of many innovations HP plans to introduce to its line of printers this year, the company said.

Nathan Gebhard and Mike Marriner, two seniors at Pepperdine University, areprofiled in an Applearticle on their cross-country trek to interview business gurus aroundthe country. The pair first met with Monster.com CEO Jeff Taylor, who agreedto give US$38,000 to sponsor them and another $150,000 to build a Web siteto publish the interviews. Buena releases After Effects plug-ins

Buena Software has released Effect Essentials, a set of ten video effect plug-ins for Adobe After Effects 5.0 and later for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. The plug-ins include Super RGB Curves, Frame Manipulator, Pixel Manipulator, Camera Flash, and Radial Glow. Effect Essentials sells for US$349. A fully functional, 25 day demo is also available.
