InfoWorld: “Switching By Choice”

Writing for InfoWorld, Tom Yager reports that he shelved his IBM ThinkPad for a PowerBook G4. Yager said that a long business trip gave him plenty of time to immerse himself in Mac OS X. “I started exploring the PowerBook and Mac OS X on the plane. Four hours later, I was still exploring and the battery meter said I had 30 minutes left. I was using Microsoft Office X and knocking around in Apple’s development tools… Since I got back from my trip, I have continued to use the PowerBook G4 by choice.

Southern California MacFair “exceeds expectations”

Over 1,000 Mac enthusiasts descended on Cerritos College this past Saturday, November 16 for the Southern California MacFair 2002, annouced the organizers of the event today. Apple is offering factory-refurbished 5GB iPods for US$199 from the “Special Deals” section of the online Apple Store. The page notes that the iPod is the model with the “original touch wheel.” Also recently added to Apple’s refurbished product offerings: 17″ iMac G4/800 ($1,799), 12.1″ iBook G3/700 ($999), PowerBook G4/800 ($2,099), and Power Mac G4/Dual 1GHz ($2,199). All refurbished products come with a full one-year warranty from Apple.
