During the past week, MacDesktops has posted 14 new desktop pictures, including: Architecture (Still Life Photos), Copernicus in Chicago (Landscapes), Heat (Movies), Marathon: Resurrection (Games), and Raiatea (Landscapes).

Apple today filed documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission, disclosing the compensation granted to CEO Steve Jobs and other Apple executives for their work last year, according to c|net. While Jobs again only received a US$1 salary for the year, he was granted 7.5 million stock options at an exercise price of $18.30. Currently only 25 percent of the options are exercisable, with the remainder vesting annually over the next three years.

Ten Apple retail stores contacted by MacMinute report having the new 10GB iPod in stock, with shipments of Apple’s 23-inch Cinema Display expected to arrive in April. The online Apple Store is currently estimating a five day shipping time on the new iPod, with the 23-inch display expected in 3-5 weeks. Additionally, few Apple stores had any stock of the new iMac, although all stores said they were receiving weekly shipments of the mid-range and high-end iMac in varying quantities.

Netscape Communications has released Netscape6.2.2, an updated version of its popular Web browser for Mac OS 8/9 andMac OS X, as noted by VersionTracker. Changes in the newversion have not been publicly documented.
