Apple’s Hot News page notes that the company is seeking opinions from PC users on purchasing a new Mac, as well as the experiences of PC users who recently switched to Macintosh.

Apple will be exhibiting at the National School Board Association’s 62nd Annual Conference, which will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, April 6-9, as noted by MacCentral. The company will showcase its wireless-enabled iBooks, digital media solutions, Mac OS X, and its PowerSchool student information system. Apple will also have fifty iBooks available for attendees to borrow and surf the Internet on its AirPort wireless network.

Apple has released two scripts for importing contacts into the iPod from either the Mac OS X Address Book or Microsoft Entourage for Mac OS X. The scripts were created using AppleScript Studio; a fully editable project file for the Address Book to iPod application is also available.

ATI Technologies has begun shipping its Radeon 8500 Mac Edition, its high-end, dual-monitor AGP graphics card for the Mac, according to Inside Mac Games.

Along with public perception, Apple’s recent iMac price hike could be setting the company up for a challenge with history. According to Wall Street Journal reporter Jim Carlton in his best-seller, Apple: The Inside Story of Intrigue, Egomania and Business Blunders, a similar Mac price increase of up to 29 percent in 1988 ended up slashing Apple’s profit margins from 51 percent to 48 percent.
