YourHead software has released Time-X 1.7.2, a skinnable and dockable digital clock for Mac OS X. Version 1.7.2 is primarily a bug-fix release, addressing several known issues.

Apple’s Hot News page notes an article in the St. Petersburg Times about video editing on the Macintosh. “Apple’s iMovie and iDVD are a powerful video editing combination for the home user,” notes Jules Allen in the article.

The European Union has announced its plan to introduce a new top level domain, .eu, in an effort to further boost its profile, according to CNN. The new domains will be administered and managed by a private sector, non-profit organization, and are expected to become available early next year.

VersionTracker notes the release of Palm Desktop 4.0, the latest version of the company’s Palm synchronization software. Version 4.0, which has been in beta for some time, offers improved privacy, as well as support for Mac OS X, vcard and vcal information and multiple languages.

Apple has released WebObjects 5.1.1, a new version of its suite of tools and object-oriented frameworks for Mac OS X for building and deploying Web and Java applications, as noted by VersionTracker. Version 5.1.1 adds updated versions of several WebObjects class and jar files, requiring some projects to be rebuilt in order to take advantage of the issues addressed in the update. WebObjects 5 sells for US$699.
