Blue World today announced that it is now shipping Lasso Studio 6 for Adobe GoLive 6, a new version of its software that “transforms leading Web site editors into robust environments for building Lasso-based data-driven Web sites.” Lasso Studio 6 for Adobe GoLive 6 is available now for US$349 for the download version and $399 for the box version. Registered customers who own a license of Lasso Studio 1.x for Adobe GoLive may upgrade for $199 for the download version and $249 for the box version.

Transmit 2.2 adds Rendezvous support

Panic today released Transmit 2.2, a free update to its popular FTP client for Mac OS X. Version 2.2 adds support for Apple’s Rendezvous technology via a pop-up menu that automatically lists all Rendezvous-capable local FTP servers. The update also includes an optional “Edit in BBEdit” button to toolbars, a new preference to manually set ASCII file extensions, lets a user automatically connect to a server on launch, fixes a potential problem with high idle CPU usage, adds Spanish localization, and fixes several bugs, many regarding SFTP.

Thursby releases DAVE 4.0.2

Thursby Software today posted DAVE 4.0.2, an update to the company’s cross-platform file and print sharing application. Version 4.0.2 includes better support for Mac OS 9 applications that are HFS+ aware, enhanced browsing for networks with large numbers of servers, improved copying for large data files, better support for Mac OS X 10.2.2, and more. The update is free to DAVE 4.0 users.

New Jersey school district considering iBook program

The Cherry Hill school district in New Jersey could launch a program as early as this spring to provide wireless laptops to every student and teacher beginning with the fourth grade, reports the Courier Post. The article notes that Apple was the first company to make a presentation to the district. Apple made its proposal at a board of education meeting this past week. Presentations from Dell, Microsoft, Intel and Compaq will follow in the next few weeks.
