Olympus releases new photo suite

Olympus today released Camedia Master Pro 4.0, a new photo suite for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X for its complete line of digital cameras. The software provides support for downloading images, creating albums and HTML pages, edits and stitches, adding sounds and creating slideshows, and printing photos, calendars, and postcards. The software is not included with Olympus digital cameras, but is available separately for US$39.95.

Sony announces price increases

Sony has announced that it is raising prices on some of its notebook and desktop computers between US$100 and $200, according to c|net. As with Apple and other PC manufacturers, the increases are a result of increasing component costs, particularly in memory and LCD displays.

St. Clair Software has released Default Folder X 1.1, a new version of its Mac OS X utility that adds a toolbar to the right side of open/save dialogs for quickly accessing favorite and recently used folders, as noted by VersionTracker. The new version adds improved speed, support for displaying free disk space, alphabetically listed favorites, an option for showing all files with a modifier key, and additional improvements and bug fixes.

Carbon Copy Cloner 1.2 copies OS X install

Mike Bombich has released Carbon Copy Cloner 1.2, a new version of his utility that helps users copy a Mac OS X installation from one partition to another. The new version adds the option to not unlock all files, support for blank passwords, improved support for erasing a partition, an event log, and complete Japanese, French, and German localizations. The software is distributed as unrestricted shareware, but the author encourages satisfied users to donate US$5.
