NEC-Mitsubishi unveils flat CRT monitors

NEC-Mitsubishi has announced a new line of NEC MultiSync Flat Enterprise CRT monitors, which include the 17-inch NEC MultiSync FE770, FE770M, FE771 SB, and FE791 SB; 19-inch FE990 and FE991 SB; and 21-inch FE2111 SB. The new line of displays offer superior brightness through NEC-Mitsubishi’s SuperBright Diamondtron flat aperture grille. The monitors are available in either white with brushed aluminum bezel or black cabinet options.

Malus releases time tracking software

Malus Softwares has released Sambacus 2.0, a new version of its time tracking application for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. The new version adds contact information per project, note attachments for projects and tasks, a description field, hourly rates for individual tasks, imports and exports, task sets, and additional improvements. Sambacus 2.0 sells for US$20.

Pioneer introduces 43-inch plasma display

At NAB, Pioneer Electronics has announced its PureVision PDP-433CMX, a Mac-compatible 43-inch plasma monitor capable of displaying a native XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 as well as PC signal resolutions ranging from 640 x 480 to 1600 x 1200. An included expansion slot offers compatibility with DVI, FireWire, TCP/IP, and other analog and digital signals. The PDP-433CMX sells for US$11,500.

ePhoto photo archiving preview released

eVision has released ePhoto Preview Release for Mac OS X, a pre-release version of its alternative to iPhoto for organizing, storing, and searching digital photos and digital videos. ePhoto offers the unique feature of searching photos visually: users can tell ePhoto to find images that look similar to a sample image or that share similar colors or shapes. The preview version expires on April 24, 2002.
