Lynda.com has released the Lynda.com Online Training Movie Library, its collection of over 100 hours of QuickTime movie-based tutorials covering graphics, animation, and Web applications such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, UltraDev, and Fireworks as well as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, ImageReady, and Illustrator. Access to the entire library is available for US$25 per month, with new tutorials added on a regular basis.

BitHeadz, Inc. has released Unity Session 3.0, its new integrated professional audio mixing tool for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. The software combines the functionality of hardware samplers, analog synthesizers, and physically modeled instruments into one fully integrated environment. In Unity Session, BitHeadz’ Unity DS-1 and Unity AS-1 (formerly Retro AS-1) are allowed to be used together in the same mixer and editor applications. Unity Session 3.0 sells for US$649.

Formac has introduced its devideon superdrive, a new FireWire DVD-R/RW and CD-RW drive based on Pioneer’s DVR-104 technology. The drive is bundled with Formac’s proprietary DVD authoring software for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, which offers an enhanced MPEG encoder that converts iMovies and QuickTime files into the format required for DVD creation.

James Thomson has released DragThing 4.3, a new version of his launcher palette for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. The new version adds a dock for volumes and servers, support for multiple languages, support for unmodified keys as hot keys in Mac OS X, and more than a dozen other improvements and bug fixes. DragThing 4.3 sells for US$25.

eZedia, Inc. today released eZeMatte 1.0, a new plug-in for iMovie 2 for Mac OS X that allows users to overlay any QuickTime supported image over an iMovie clip to add borders, frames, themes, logos, or any customized graphic. eZeMatte 1.0 sells for US$29.
