Apple has put together a questionnaire for Final Cut Pro users that asks for feedback to ten questions. Those who complete the questionnaire receive a free copy of the CGM Film LE filter.

America Online’s recent release of a new beta of its Mac OS X software, which employs Netscape’s Gecko browser technology instead of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, is catching the eyes of the mainstream media, as evidenced by these Reuters and c|net articles. Some theorize the move is a precursor to a bolder plan to employ Netscape technology in an upcoming release of its Windows software.

The Atomic Learning Company has released a free Basic Edition of its Video StoryBoard software, which is currently in beta. Video StoryBoard is billed as a tool to plan ahead when creating video projects. The Basic Edition is currently only compatible with Mac OS 9 (and Mac OS X in the Classic environment).

Macility has released PopChar X, the first Mac OS X release of its utility that places a menu in the top-left corner of the screen to view and select all characters in a given font. PopChar X is US$29 shareware and registration includes a copy of the Mac OS 8/9-compatible PopChar Pro 1.5, which was also released today.
