Greg Landweber has released SmoothType 2.3, a new version of his control panel for System 7 through Mac OS 9.2 that smooths on-screen fonts. As noted by VersionTracker, the new release adds a Subpixel Smoothing feature optimized for LCD screens that separately manipulates the red, green, and blue parts of each pixel, “effectively tripling the resolution.” SmoothType is US$10 shareware.
