Blue World Communications today released a statement certifying compatibility between FileMaker 6 and its Lasso 5 line of Web Data Engine software. “Our tests show no compatibility issues between our Lasso products and FileMaker Pro 6 via the Web Companion,” said Bill Doerrfeld, CEO of Blue World. “We encourage users to try FileMaker Pro 6 with the single-user versions of Lasso products.”

Meetinghouse Data Communications has added support for Mac OS X to its AEGIS line of network authentication software, making it the first company to offer 802.1X-based wireless authentication for the operating system.

Chronos today released Personal Organizer 4.5 and Group Organizer 4.5, the latest versions of its organizer products. Four main features highlight the upgrade: a Mac OS X Palm conduit, customs lists of contacts that can be saved as vCards, a Mac OS X dialer for placing phone calls through a modem, and a multi-threaded Coaoa server included with Group Organizer. Both upgrades are available for free to version 4 users; 30-day trial versions are also available.

Metrowerks recently posted CodeWarrior 8.1, a maintenance release of the Compilers and Command Line Tools for CodeWarrior 8. The update is provided as a free download.

4D, Inc. has released 4D View, a plug-in for 4D and 4D Server that provides spreadsheet and data presentation capabilities, and 4D 6.8.1, an update to the database software. Both downloads are available free of charge.
