ISI ResearchSoft today released EndNote 6, a major upgrade to its bibliographic management software, which includes enhancements such as organizing images with text, and built-in journal submission templates for Microsoft Word X for Mac. EndNote 6 is designed for Mac OS X and Windows, and is priced at US$329.95 ($109.95 for students); upgrades are also available.

Channel Storm today announced Live Channel Pro 1.4 for Mac OS X, which allows users to produce and broadcast live media over the Internet. The new version features an improved user interface, multiple text lines and new styles, cropping and slow & fast motion, gain and equalization, and fast keyboard control. Live Channel is available now, and is priced at US$999 ($499 for education).

Apple Repair Privileges 1.1, a utility that restores the privileges of Mac OS X system files and Apple-installed software to their default configuration, is now available according to VersionTracker. Version 1.1 of the software fixes a few known bugs and is available for download now.

InforMax today announced that Vector NTI 7.1, the company’s latest version of its sequence analysis, data visualization and data management tool, will be available for Mac OS X in September. The Vector NTI Suite is a comprehensive set of applications that allow biomedical researchers to store, manage, view, analyze, transform, share and publicize diverse types of complex molecular biology data. Pricing information was not provided in the press release.

I.R.I.S. Group today announced the worldwide release of its IRIS Business Card Reader II for Mac OS X. The IBCR II connects to the USB port of your Mac and will scan and organize your business cards for transfer to contact management software. IBCR II will carry a suggested retail price of US$199.99.
