WiebeTech introduces FireWire RAID

WiebeTech today announced FireWire RAID, featuring two high-speed 7200RPM drives in a single small enclosure. Each drive has a separate FireWire bridge board, allowing completely independent operation as well as striping and mirroring without drivers under Mac OS X. FireWire RAID offers storage capacity of up to 240GB (unformatted) and performance in excess of 60MB/sec, according to the press release. An article on Iowa’s West Branch Times’ Web site provides a detailed description of what it is like getting filmed for an Apple “Switch” commercial. Tom Gartland, a business consultant and Web site developer, was chosen for the ad campaign and recently traveled to Hollywood to film his commercial. “There was a lot of secrecy. They didn’t tell me anything that was going to happen,” Gartland said. “They didn’t want it to be rehearsed.”
