WiebeTech adds ATA-6 support to FireWire DriveDock and Super DriveDock

WiebeTech announced today that it is now shipping an improved version of the FireWire DriveDock (US$139.95) and the bus-powered Super DriveDock ($159.95), its FireWire bridge interfaces for 3.5″ IDE drives. Both devices now support ATA-6 drives. The PowerBridge bus powering circuitry of the Super DriveDock has also been improved, for better compatibility with 17″ iMacs.

IDG confirms Apple will attend Macworld San Francisco

IDG today confirmed that Apple will be attending Macworld Expo San Francisco in January 2003, and also said that the two companies are in discussions regarding Apple’s role in
upcoming Macworld Expos. “On Monday, October 21, Apple and IDG World Expo confirmed that Apple will indeed participate in Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco in January 2003 as originally planned, with a presence on the show floor as well as the keynote presentation from Steve Jobs,” IDG said in a statement it sent to MacMinute.

Adobe releases Acrobat Reader 5.1

Adobe today released Acrobat Reader 5.1, the latest version of its application to view, navigate, browse, and print PDF files. The update adds new capabilities for e-government initiatives, digital signature validating, and the ability to open file attachments from directly within Acrobat Reader. Version 5.1 also allows users to send emails that attach the open Adobe PDF file without switching to your email application. Acrobat Reader is available for Mac OS 8.6 or later and Mac OS X.
