Wired reports on Mac “Shrine”

Wired’s Leander Kahney has written an article about Brazilian-born photographer Caesar Lima, who runs a digital imaging studio (Caesar Photo Design) in Los Angeles. Over the years Lima has owned a wide variety of different Macintosh systems, and now displays them prominently in his studio for all to see. Included in the collection is everything from the Lisa to the Cube and various models in between. “My clients love it,” said Lima in the report.

Panic updates Transmit 2

Panic today released Transmit 2.1, the first update to the company’s popular Mac OS X FTP client. Version 2.1 adds a much-requested “Edit in BBEdit” feature, fixes a problem with passwords being occasionally visible as plain text, cures a problem where dragging items into a folder would make the “phantom items” appear, adds a French localization, improves AppleScript support, fixes rare crashes, and much more. Transmit 2.1 is a free upgrade for owners of Transmit 2 (US$24.95).

eBay auction assistant updated

Black Magik Software today released eLister 2.1, an update to its offline auction listing assistant for use with the eBay auction service. Version 2.1 adds support for eBay Gift Services, scheduled listings, selection of categories over 5 levels deep, listing fee alerts, and improved previews under Mac OS X. This update also includes fixes for printing of 4×6 cards under Mac OS X and corrects problems with handing of manually entered image URLs.
