Sorenson Media today announced Sorenson Squeeze 3 for MPEG-4, a new version of its video compression software that will allow users to access the “advanced features in the Sorenson MPEG-4 Pro codec to create the highest-quality media, enabling the distribution of content from low bandwidth to high-definition quality over the Internet, IP-based networks, and a new generation of consumer digital devices.” Sorenson today also announced the release of Sorenson Squeeze 3 for Macromedia Flash MX, which includes “significant feature enhancements that enable Flash developers and designers to easily create rich video content and applications for Web or CD delivery.” Sorenson Squeeze 3 for MPEG-4 (US$199) and Sorenson Squeeze 3 for Macromedia Flash MX (US$119) are expected to ship in the first quarter of 2003. Both products will also be included in the Sorenson Squeeze 3 Compression Suite ($449).
