Rogue Amoeba unveils Audio Hijack 1.0

Rogue Amoeba Software has announced the release of Audio Hijack 1.0, the company’s new audio enhancement utility. The software runs in the background and allows users to pipe audio from a Mac through a customizable set of DSP filters. What this means, essentially, is that you can add an equalizer to any Cocoa or Carbon application in OS X, including RealOne, DVD Player and Windows Media Player. In addition, any sound played through Audio Hijack can be recorded to an AIFF file for later listening. A complete list of additional features is available from the Web site. Audio Hijack is US$16 shareware.
