Wall Street Journal columnist Walt Mossberg uses his Thursday column to sing the praises of Apple’s 17-inch flat-panel iMac, but focuses primarily on the release of Mac OS X 10.2. Mossberg calls Jaguar “a big step forward” and focused on its improved networking capabilities. “…Using the Windows PC, I played a song stored on the iMac. I copied files in every direction. It all worked quickly and smoothly…(Jaguar) continues the effort to differentiate Apple’s operating system from Windows XP. In my view, it’s worth the price.” Mossberg also notes that Apple will offer “family pricing” for Jaguar, allowing the operating system to be installed on up to five computers in a home for US$199.
