Epson earlier this week announced its USB Direct-Print technology, which allows a digital camera to print directly to a printer over USB. The technology is based on Epson’s already established direct-print functionality, which it has employed in certain printers since 1998 and works by inserting the camera’s memory card into the supported printer. AsiaBizTech reports that Epson plans to enhance the technology to include direct connections to CD-RW and MO drives, as well as LCD projectors. Canon and HP already offer products with their own version of USB Direct-Print.
