Epson yesterday announced several new products at a UK press event, including two new scanners and a new printer, according to MacUser UK. The Perfection 1660 (£169) and 2400 Photo (£199) are 1600 dpi and 2400 dpi scanners, respectively, that feature USB 2.0, 48-bit color, and a transparency unit, while the Stylus C62 (£79) is a four-color printer with an optimized resolution of 5760×720 dpi. The new products are specific to Europe, but historically Epson has rolled out new products in Europe first, only to announced the same products with minor modifications and model number changes in the U.S. a few months later. MacMinute has learned that the current C60, C80 and 785EPX inkjet printer models in the U.S. have been discontinued.
