Approximately 50,000 people used QuickTime to view the live webcast of Steve Jobs’ Macworld Expo keynote last week, according to an Apple press release. Of those, about 25,000 used QuickTime 6 and viewed the MPEG-4 stream of the keynote, making it the first large-scale web event to be streamed in that format using a complete Apple solution. Four Apple Xserve servers using QuickTime Streaming Server 4.1, QuickTime Broadcaster, and QuickTime 6 delivered the MPEG-4 stream.
