Glucose today released Impasse, a Mac OS X firewall front-end that integrates into the System Preferences and allows users to access and control the system’s built-in firewall without having to use the Terminal. A basic mode monitors which services are being used and opens or closes firewall holes automatically as needed, while an advanced mode gives a user access to the full wealth of options available with the firewall. Impasse sells for US$10; a 30-day demo is also available.
