A MacMinute reader (“Furb”) pointed out to us today that Apple seems to have updated their selection on QuickTime TV channels. The new additions appear to be Apple Learning, V2 TV, AVdeck, Rhino and TV Land. Missing from the list — at least as of this afternoon — are MTV, ABC News, and others. Apple was not immediately available for comment, but we will check in on this again after the holidays.

Koingo Software’s password storage and retrieval utility has been updated. Password Retriever 2.7.2 offers a bug fix involving 128 bit encryption, the addition of 256 bit encryption ability, and a few minor modifications. Password Retriever is US$11.95 shareware — a no-limitations, fifteen-day evaluation period is now available to non-registered users.

VersionTracker notes the release of MySQL 4.0.1, a multi-user, multi-threaded SQL database server. Version 4.0.1 offers a large number of bug fixes and feature additions.
