With Apple’s window for issuing an fiscal fourth-quarter earnings warning all but over, the company appears on track to report a profit of 16 cents per share on October 17, according to the consensus of market watchers as compiled by Thomson Financial/First Call. The average revenue estimate is $1.5 billion for the quarter. Many stock analysts are surprised Apple did not issue a warning, as the majority of the PC sector over the past two weeks have either lowered expectations for the next year or warned of lower-than-expected earnings for the calendar third quarter.
