Chaotic Software has released MP3 Rage 4.0, a new version of its versatile MP3 utility. MP3 Rage allows users to perform a number of tasks, from using Internet sharing services like Gnutella to find music, to organizing their collection. The new version adds the ability to normalize sound volumes while exporting to AIFF for CD burning, new ID3 tag information, ID3 sort name, Windows-compatible MP3 file naming, and more. EarthLink founder to introduce wireless ISP

EarthLink founder and chairman Sky Dayton plans to unveil his latest company today, a wireless Internet service provider dubbed “Boingo,” according to c|net. The company will employ Wi-Fi technology, which provides wireless access to computers up to 300 feet away (generally employing the 802.11 standard), with subscribers paying US$75 a month for unlimited access to any of the networks.

Dr. Bott has released a new version of its high-end PowerBook G4 case that better accomodates the new PowerBook’s square power adapter and adds a pocket that snugly fits Apple’s iPod. Apple releases QuickTime Streaming Server 4.0p2

Apple has posted QuickTime Streaming Server 4.0p2, a new pre-release version of its streaming media software for Mac OS X Server, as noted by VersionTracker. The new version adds administrative enhancements, including a new Setup Assistant, native Hinted MPEG-4 Streaming, quality of service enhancements, native MP3/Icecast streaming support, and playlist broadcaster user interface enhancements. The pre-release version expires on March 15, 2002.
