Apple ranks fifth among e-tailers, Amazon dominates

Apple has ranked fifth in the Nielsen//NatRatings list of the top 15 e-tailers for November, accumulating 6.1 million unique visitors and outpacing several other PC makers, such as Dell (5.7M), HP (5.2M) and Compaq (3.6M). Amazon.com, meanwhile, dominated the competition with 31.4 million unique visitors, a 32 percent increase from the same period last year and over three times its closest competitor. The study also found that about half of all online shopping is done from work.

Blue World to release Lasso Resource Guide

Blue World Communications today announced that it has partnered with Co-Media Marketing to publish the Lasso Resource Guide, a comprehensive print listing of resources available to the Lasso community. Over 30,000 copies of the guide will be distributed via in-box, direct mail, trade shows and events over a 12 month period beginning in March 2002.

Acrobat 5.0.5 improves compatibility, fixes bugs

Adobe has posted Acrobat 5.0.5, an update to its PDF software for Mac OS 8.6 and later and Mac OS X, as noted by VersionTracker. The new version “provides additional compatibility and fixes known issues, including support for Mac OS X and Macintosh versions of Microsoft Office, and additional updates.” Acrobat Reader, Adobe’s free application for viewing PDF files, has not been updated.
