ScanSoft is currently developing OmniPage Pro X, a Mac OS X version of its optical character recognition (OCR) software and the first Mac product from the company in nearly three years. MacCentral offers a rather lengthy look at the product, which allows users to scan a document and convert it to editable text, and its history in today’s edition. OmniPage Pro X is due to ship by Macworld Expo next month, and will sell for US$499, with upgrades from prior versions or competitor’s software priced at $199.
