Pixels, Inc. has announced the beta release of version 4.0 of its 3D animation software for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. As reported by MacCentral , Pixels 3D 4.0 features a completely redesigned and customizable interface, an open architecture allowing dynamic and customizable plug-ins, improved NURBS modeling, vastly optimized polygonal modeling with new polygon smoothing and reduction tools, and an integrated help system. The current beta version of PiXELS 3D Version 4 is available until December 31 for US$299; the final version will be available later this month.
