Blizzard Entertainment has released a 1.09c patch for both Diablo II and expansion set Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. The new version, currently available only by logging in to Battle.net, fixes a trade exploitation that could cause one user to crash another when playing on Battle.net. The company warns, however, that a certain trading hack remains unresolved. With the hack initiated, one user can present an image of an item in the trading window without actually trading the item, allowing them to gain valuable items for nothing in return. Until a solution is found and implemented, Blizzard recommends trading cautiously. The company also initiated a new tracking feature on Battle.net that shows the number of unsuccessful login attempts to your account; an accurate indicator of when someone is trying to guess your account password.
