A Palo Alto, California, middle school plans to purchase 45 iBooks for use between 300 students, but has postponed a plan to let parents purchase laptops for their own student. The plan drew criticism from parents who said it would divide students into two groups; those who can afford a laptop and purchase one, and those who can’t.
