Apple has had two further class-action lawsuits filed against it stemming from “false and misleading” statements it made at Macworld New York 2000 regarding its new Power Mac G4, G4 Cube, and iMac. Both suits — from Schiffrin & Barroway, LLP, and Cauley Geller Bowman & Coates, LLP — allege that Apple essentially misled investors and that four officers sold more than US$22 million in Apple stock prior to the company warning that it would fall significantly short of earnings estimates for that quarter. Shareholders who purchased shares of Apple between July 19, 2000, and September 28, 2000 can participate in the suit.
